NYC Emergency Boiler Repair & Dispatch · 24/7

No Heat or No Hot Water in NYC

“No heat” and “no hot water” are the two calls we take most, especially once heat season starts. Sometimes it’s a simple reset; often it’s a control, a pressure problem, or a safety lockout that needs a licensed tech. Either way, we help you sort it fast instead of shivering through the night.

Signs it’s time to call

  • The whole home or building has gone cold with no heat
  • Radiators or baseboard are cold to the touch
  • There’s heat but no hot water, or hot water but no heat
  • The boiler is dark, silent, or showing a fault code
  • The pilot or ignition won’t stay lit
  • It was working, then cut out and won’t come back

When to call a pro

A few things are safe to check yourself: the thermostat, the boiler’s power switch, the fuse or breaker, and the emergency shutoff. If those are fine and the boiler still won’t make heat, it’s time for a tech. During NYC heat season, a landlord is legally required to keep the building warm, so don’t sit on a building-wide outage.

What the technician handles

Guided first checks

When you call, we’ll walk you through the safe, obvious things, sometimes it’s a tripped switch and you’re back in minutes.

Fast dispatch when needed

If it’s beyond a reset, we connect you with a licensed tech who can get out to your borough quickly.

Heat and hot water both

Whether it’s the heating side, the hot-water side, or both, the tech traces which part of the system failed.

Tenants and owners

We help tenants document the outage and connect owners and supers with a contractor to restore heat.

Questions

About this service

What can I check before I call?

The thermostat setting and batteries, the boiler’s on/off switch, the breaker or fuse, and that the emergency shutoff wasn’t bumped. If those look right and there’s still no heat, call us.

My landlord won’t restore the heat, what are my rights?

During NYC heat season (Oct 1–May 31) owners must maintain minimum indoor temperatures. You can call us to get a tech out, and you can also report an outage to 311. See our NYC heat-season guide.

No hot water but the heat works, same system?

Often yes. Many NYC boilers make both heat and domestic hot water, so a control or an aquastat problem can knock out one while the other still runs.
